Iron & Stainless International N.V., or ISI, is specialised in trading and stocking of prime and second choice stainless steel products on the international market. We make a market in Belgium and neighbouring countries, but place a focus on sourcing our materials in European service centers in order to export these products to the Asian continent.
The company was founded by Mr. Van Dessel who has since retired from the stainless steel market. ISI is now part of a group of affiliated stainless steel companies in common ownership.
Although we do serve our home markets with access to prime quality materials, the majority of our traded products include mostly non-standard sizes in variety of alloys with a focus on AISI304, AISI316 and 400 alloy series.
Materials can be categorised by the mill as non-prime for a variety of reasons. The most common factors are:
- non-standard size
- off-cuts or narrow strips
- slight surface defects
- transport or manipulation damages
